White Wines, DO Empordà

This wine is made from grapes grown in white Garnacha and Macabeo vineyards located on slaty coasts, from where it is possible to see the sea and the mountains of Canigó, snow-covered for much of the year.
Its name (“De neu” in old Catalan) and the snow crystals that adorn the label are inspired by this unique landscape.

Elaboration
The grapes were carefully selected by hand at the time of harvest to achieve an optimal and homogeneous degree of ripeness. The must was macerated with the grape skins for ten hours at a temperature of 7º and then drained by gravity and fermented for 21 days in a stainless steel tank at a temperature of 13º until reaching a degree of 10% Vol. alc. ; fermentation was completed in new French oak barrels of medium toast.
The wine remained in the barrels in contact with its lees for five months. Prior to bottling, it was filtered and stabilized at -3º temperature.

Celler Mas Llunes DO Empordà

Our ancestors were already working the land in Garriguella in 1331. Today we are following the dream they began
We work with indigenous grape varieties, such as Grenache and Carignan and we take the greatest care in our vineyards because the secret of our quality is looking after our raw materials.
In our house, we say that extraordinary grapes come from extraordinary vines. And from an extraordinary grapes comes exceptional wine. That’s the main reason why we only make wines from our own vineyards, some of them are over a hundred years old. When you have treasures like these, there’s no one better than yourself to take care of them.
Following the rules of organic production, we make every effort to obtain wines with personality and a marked Empordà character. The 150,000 bottles we produce every year are the result of this way of understanding wine.
We move forward into the future without losing sight of our roots, because we like to think that if our ancestors could see us, they would feel proud of how we do things.
