It seems that as early as the 10th century the Catalans were making glass of the highest quality. Blowing and pumping, the glassmaking industry flourished and grew for centuries, just like its important counterparts in Venice and other centres. Over the centuries, the most beautiful colours decorated drinking glasses, jars and bottles.
VARIETIES
100% Garnatxa Peluda (Borruda).
Taste Note
Appearance: an intense ruby color with violet reflections.
Nose: it shows deep violet and red berry notes on the nose
Taste: a liquorice and creamy mouth making for a long and smooth ending.
Pairing
Grilled beef, duck, rice, goat soft cheese and moussaka.
Temperature to serve
Between 14 i 16°C.

Altavins is a small winery located within the D.O. Terra Alta, a wine-region, with thousands of years of tradition, in the southwest of Catalonia.
